Connected, a new podcast series hosted by Mike Morland and Carolyn Lusch for the MDetroit Center Connector, provides riders with an opportunity to learn about service updates/changes and things to do in Detroit and Ann Arbor.
About the hosts:
Mike Morland is the Communications Director at the U-M Detroit Center and manages communications activities for the MDetroit Center Connector. A University of Michigan alumnus, Mike received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications with concentrations in Print Journalism and Electronic Media. A 10-year veteran of the broadcasting industry, his experience includes independent, non-profit and commercial radio. As a radio host, Mike has interviewed a wide variety of musicians, scholars and athletes including Hockey Hall of Fame Defenseman, Larry Murphy, Economic Nobel Prize winner Dr. Robert Shiller, U.S. Senior Senator Carl Levin and world-renown DJ, Terrence Parker.
Carolyn Lusch is a Redford Township native who has worked for a variety of community organizations in the region, including Greening of Detroit, Siena Literacy Center and SOS Community Services. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2011, with majors in Spanish and creative writing and a minor in urban studies. Carolyn has also worked for the Michigan Suburbs Alliance, where she met fellow transit enthusiasts and began organizing community outreach for transit projects in Washtenaw County and the Woodward Corridor. With an enthusiasm for transit, Carolyn is currently pursuing a Master of Urban Planning degree at the University of Michigan. Carolyn is also an avid writer whose work has been featured in publications such as The Michigan Daily and Groundcover News.
