    One of the greatest parts about visiting Detroit and Ann Arbor is cheering for their local sports teams.

    Detroit City FC is a semi-professional American soccer club based in Detroit. Each summer Detroiters and visitors can enjoy following one of the most exciting soccer leagues in the nation that is home to Detroit. Now that summer is beginning, several fun events surrounding Detroit City FC will now take place in the upcoming months.

    Detroit FC was founded in 2012 and has since become one of the most talked about semi-pro soccer teams in the United States. The team currently plays in the National Premier Soccer League and has been able to bring together a community of residents who love to partake in the passion that this team has inspired.

    The league has become wildly successful since it was first created, and the team has been known to draw over 1,000 spectators for games and after-parties across Detroit.

    On May 13, Detroit City FC will kick off its season against the Ann Arbor AFC at Skyline High School beginning at 3 p.m.

    AFC Ann Arbor was founded in 2014 and originally played in the Great Lakes Premier League before moving to the National Premier Soccer League in 2016. The team’s fans are passionate and loyal, with expectations high in 2018 after coming off it’s first National Premier Soccer League Great Lakes Division title in 2017.
