DETROIT, MI – After nearly two years of serving the University of Michigan community as the MDetroit Center Connector, beginning Thursday, September 10, 2015, the service will officially change its name to the “MDetroit Connector” (MDC).
While service locations will remain the same, the new name reflects the broader commitment of connecting the University of Michigan and the City of Detroit.
In addition to this change, and better align itself with similar University of Michigan transportation practices, the Detroit Connector will no longer require faculty, staff and students to make a reservation to the ride bus. This permanent change in service begins Thursday, September 10, 2015.
With this change, the MDetroit Connector hopes to encourage even greater usage and mobility between Ann Arbor and Detroit with the option of walk-up ridership. While reservations are no longer required, all students, faculty and staff are still required to present their UMID upon request. Additionally, the respective school, college or unit seeking to use this service is responsible for coordinating all group trips.
